Hips and Hearts is a new event that is dear to me. This belly dance competition joins artistic passions for Middle Eastern dance with shared passions for human kindnesses and community services. Each dancer selects a charity organization to sponsor, and creates her (or his) dance masterpiece to perform before a live audience and a panel of judges. Representatives from each charity organization will be in attendance to share information about their cause.

Idena Suzanne is a performer, choreographer, and instructor of Belly Dance from beautiful southern Oregon. She has a reputation for grace, warmth, moxie, and an ability to tell stories through her dance. Her smile is lively and her humor is apparent in her performances.
Hire a belly dancer for your special event or invite Idena to conduct a learning workshop! Idena is available for performance as soloist and in troupe performances with Tasseled Camel and with Ayesha's Oasis Dance Company. She specializes in formal and informal celebrations such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and parties.

As a performer, her physical skill as well as her artistry of expression through movement delight and inspire audiences.
As an instructor, she systematically introduces each new movement in its simplest form. The basic step is followed by additional variations and layers to complement the basic step. Each session includes combinations of dance steps and instruction on how to dance improvisationally and how to build a choreography.
Idena is available to review your choreography project or to create a new choreography that plays to your dance strengths
